Acting true to the meaning and spirit of Eid al-Adha, we donated meat to various organizations and communities during the Eid al-Adha 2020. Our first stop was Masjid As-Sabur. We would like to thank Imam Fateen Seifullah, Imam Mujahid Ramadan, donors and our volunteers.
We celebrated Eid al-Adha 2020 with a special drive-through organization at our location. We gifted surprise gifts to the children and shared meals to the families of our community. We adapted to the pandemic conditions by organizing a drive-through with social distancing.
Children felt the spirit of the Eid with the surprise toys and gift cards. Families greeted each other and celebrated the Eid together as they waved at and fist-bumped each other according the social distancing rules. Even though we could not embrace each other, we felt the warm and friendship all around the air. There were some cars with special decorations and they bring a joy to the festivities.
Due to the pandemic, Silver Sage Foundation had to migrate the Summer Classes for children to online and organized Zoom meetings to bring our volunteer mentors and children together.
Between 14-26th of June, Silver Sage Foundation mentors gave classes to the children ranging from kindergarten to high-school. Classes included Turkish language learning, English reading, Arts and Crafts, Kahoot contests, Quranic teaching, Character education and Coding.
It was a great opportunity for our children to use the quarantine time efficiently as they had fun, socialize with their friends and learned new things.
We pray that 2021 will be better in terms of the pandemic and we will be able to organize these Summer courses on-site in our building. We also would like to thank our volunteer mentors, participating children, financial donors and supportive parents as all of them made these courses possible.
