Dear Silver Sage Foundation community members,

As the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak continues to spread around the world and in our nation, we feel obliged to take precautions and make a statement as Silver Sage Foundation to inform our community about this topic. Here is a list of recommendations given by our foundation:

  1. Community gatherings (monthly meetings, picnics, the Friday prayers etc…) are canceled indefinitely.
  2. There will be no interstate and international travels made, especially by airlines.
  3. Extra attention on hygiene should be paid. Hands should be washed regularly and handshaking should be avoided.
  4. Malls, restaurants, hotels and other crowded places should be avoided as much as possible.
  5. Water, food and cleaning products should be purchased enough for at least several weeks.
  6. Children should not be taken to the places of extra curriculum courses, sports events and other kind of gatherings.
  7. No plans should be made on Ramadan dinners (iftars), and these dinners should be kept in small circles and private homes.

Along with these decisions and recommendations, we would like to encourage everyone to pray for our community, for the Americans and ultimately for all of the world in these troubling times. May this epidemic ends swiftly and people return to their daily life as it was before.

Respectfully yours,

Silver Sage Foundation Management

We celebrated the Women’s Day at our location with food, activities, folkloric dance show and speeches. We would like to thank everyone participated in the event. And we would like to celebrate every women’s valuable presence in our lives.

We volunteered at Three Squares’ Sort-a-thon event to help the people in need and elevate the social standards in Las Vegas.

We took part at the first meeting of the Nevadans for the Common Good in 2020. The meeting was held on 9th of January.

137 community leaders participated at the event.

Professor Zeki Saritoprak from John Carroll University gave a talk on Mary’s significance in Islam. Epiphany Episcopal Church hosted the event presided by The Reverend Rick O’Brien. The meeting was thought provoking and quite interactive with comments and questions from the audience.

Professor Zeki Saritoprak gave a lecture on the subject of “Jesus and Islam” at our location. With an audience consists of both Christians and Muslims, it was an engaging meeting and discussion.

Silver Sage Foundation was at Homelessness Service
Project Homeless Connect today. HSPHC is a service and resource fair for people who are at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. The services provided aim to break down barriers to housing and self-sufficiency including housing, shelter, health care, legal aid, job readiness, food, behavioral health, and more.

Silver Sage Foundation participated at The Mayors’ Community Breakfast. The event aims to build a harmonious community which encourages unity, diversity and developing leadership skills for our local people. It was hosted by Interfaith Council of Southern Nevada & United Way of Southern Nevada.

We held our Annual Silver Sage Foundation Interfaith Thanksgiving Dinner at our location on 11/16/19. We were honored with valuable guests from the Nevada community. Thanks to all participants. Especially to Ken Heck from Temple Beth Sholom, retired professor Dr. Daniel Skubik, Imam Shemsettin from Masjid Ibrahim, retired professor Dr. Rosalie Marinellu, musician Carol Wagers from UNLV and communications expert Ms. Laura Porecca for their contributions to this event of friendship and mutual understanding.

We participated at the 8th Annual Walk a Mile in My Shoes – Las Vegas event. It was a charitable activity with Las Vegas Rescue Mission. The objective was to raise funds for the homeless people. The event took place on 9/28/2019.
